How to Use

The secret to making the perfect Medu Vada or Dahi Vada is passed down from one generation to the next. WithSoul Food Factory, it just got a whole lot easier without losing the magic of the age old tradition.

Wash the pack before you use the batter.

Cut & open the pack and add salt if required. The batter is not salted. Mix well

If you are making Medu Vada,

  • Chopped small onion, green chillies, crushed pepper, chopped curry leaves, and small coconut pieces.
  • Mix everything together thoroughly.
  • Shape the batter like medu Vada or pakodas and deep fry till golden brown.
  • Serve it with coconut chutney and Sambar.

If you are making Dahi Vada,

  • 1½ tea spoon of cumin seeds and mix thoroughly.
  • Shape the batter like pakodas and deep fry till golden brown.
  • Cool the vadas, soak them in water to remove excess oil, and squeeze the excess water out .
  • Flavour the curd with salt, jeera powder, chat masala, black pepper powder, red chilly powder, and sugar as per taste.
  • Dip the vadas in the flavoured curd.
  • Serve the dahi vadas garnished with tamarind chutney and chilly powder.
